well, just got some bad news on this... Everything has come in except the ram, which I was somewhat expecting today or worst case being Monday. After I got off work today I noticed I still didn't have an email with a tracking # for the ram, so I called to double check it all. My card was declined because i haven't used it in so long they were making sure it wasn't stolen... got it cleared up and got the charge through, the only problem is I won't see the ram till either tues. or wed. now. I also decided to order a Monster power cable for it and that should be here on Monday. Not much of a pic here, but these cables are SICK MONSTER
BTW, I get a deal on Monster at work, so I didn't pay $50 for it and probably wouldn't have considered it otherwise.

well, I did, but I've seen the differences between those v/s the cheap cables and it's the same as the difference between cheap and good guitar cables. The stuff is pretty big in lots of the music industry, and ESSENTIAL in the recording industry. I understand if you're not into it, but there is a difference. Kinda like running a big cam and doing all exhaust work, but leaving your heads and intake stock... If you aren't running a power filter of some sort and a better cable, then you're just not getting the complete potential of your system. At the same time, the difference MAY BE minimal enough to not make a difference to you.

The power cable that comes with the power supply is good enough.

the ram did come in on Friday. I finally got a chance to do the windows install this morning, which took virtually no time. I didn't get a chance to do a lot more than that... started going through the Asus disk installs and had to quit to get some other things done. So far so good! I haven't the slightest clue if I'll get anything done on it tomorrow or if it'll end up being Thursday, but I'm looking forward to getting to play around with Windows 7 and also enjoy my first 64bit Windows! On top of that, I hope to try the HD video work on it within the next week!

I'm continueing to be in love with my new computer! This is my first web page to visit with it (of course)!
Ok, 2 things I'm unsure of so far... Under devices it shows my second hard drive and says everything is working fine with it, however it doesn't list it in My Computer as an available drive... I'm sure I'll figure that one out, but so far I haven't had luck getting that resolved. The other thing is that my upon doing a motherboard check it shows my ram running at 800mhz and it should be 1066. It does show all 8Gb of ram, tho... and I'm quite glad to not be fighting to get it to do so!

As far as the hard drive issue, right click on my computer and go to manage. Then click on Disk Management. You will probably need to format the hard drive if you havent yet done so.

That's exactly what I thought... but I didn't see anywhere to format it. I'll go back through it again later and see what I come up with.

Ok, I did "create new simple volume" and that allowed me to format and get it going. I even went through the help menu and it didn't say that's how to do it either... LOL! Anyway, I got it! Now I'm ready to transfer my files from the old pc and start saving the new stuff.

Awesome! Yea you need to format it and assign a letter before the OS can see it properly.

Here's a pic of most everything I got. The only things missing here are dvd drive, 500Gb hd, and ram.
