Yours should be faster than Jerimiahs. Your both Core 2 and youve got the higher clock speed lol.
Intel is tearing AMD up right, Core 2 and Quad is just destroying the competition.
I like how the original post was in 2005 and I wrote "Im just curious how normal PCs stack up, I have seen the numbers on the overclockers forums, and they push like over 4ghz out of there 3ghz procs and hit sub 30s." Moores law in full effect.
I paid like $200 for the processor, ~$100 for the mobo, ~$50 on memory, and ~$100 on graphics card. In 2005 I paid the for the P4 setup

I was thinking the same thing. I had a bunch of things open too. I closed a few things and it made a 20 later. If I shut down sql service and some other services I have running, I could probably get it a lot quicker.

12 seconds in Windows 7 with a Core 2 3.0Ghz running ar 3.6Ghz and 6GB Ram so no change with more ram and Windows 7 as the OS. I may tighten up the memory timings a bit and try again.

I've got a monster machine at work that I will test this on tomrrow. My laptop (the one mentioned a few posts above) was taking a week to run a job that was finding patterns in 50 million records of data for a client. I moved that job over to this monster desktop and it took less than an hour. I'd love to see what it can do with this.
